Cities like New York lose more than 45 percent of their water because of leaky pipes. Israeli-based Arad Group has invented a fly-by leak finding system that uses a two-pound airborne drone to both monitor water meters and find leaks. The aircraft can detect water leaks from the air.
The pilotless drone plane could save up to 20% of the city of New York’s water waste. Sales have been made in Texas and other potential deployment is in the works.
