Boxy Flower Packaging

Linnea Akerberg Revolves Her School Project Around Swedish Company Swedbag

The idea of flower packaging essentially ends at some colorful gift wrap and ribbon at checkout -- but one student rethinks this whole process to create something not only much more visually appealing, but also practical. In place of paper is sturdier cardboard that creates a geometric barrier between the blooms and the outside world.

Designed by Linnea Åkerberg, the flower packaging was created for Swedish company Swedbag. A collection of four different designs, the first two are diamond-shaped bouquet holders while the other two take the form of more traditional gift bags with dividers that are meant to hold two pots. Complete with minimal illustrations on the outside and a black ribbon, the flower packaging is stylishly eye-catching while also ensuring the delicate plants inside will not be crushed or destroyed.
