Guo Yanlong, Zhang Linfu and Huang Jie of the Hefei University of Technology have developed an inflatable ring that takes the length and width dimensions similar to that of a standard bathtub's rim. Connected to this is a filtering membrane that expands downwards, under the surface and beneath the weight of an occupant or two.
