Florian Rivière Turns a Parking Lot into Multiple Urban Arenas

Florian Rivière is dubbed as the 'Urban Hactivist' who's notorious for going about city streets and creating pieces or art work that'll whip up a giggle.

French artist Rivière uses the most mundane materials and transforms it into interactive public art. He takes over urban cities and claims the space to make unordinary sculptures and in this case, sports arenas built by using a parking lot and random shopping carts.

Rivière's latest project is called 'Don't Pay, Play' and it's where parking lot boundary lines are used to make a perimeter of a sports field instead of parking vehicles. This series of rendered parking spaces in Strasbourg, France, turns into a playing rinks for a range of sports that includes basketball, tennis, football, hockey, badminton and water polo.
