Flexible Panoramic Cameras

The Human Media Lab 'FlexCam' Bends to Take Amazing Pictures

The 'FlexCam' flexible camera by the Human Media Lab at Queen's University in Canada bends to take dynamic pictures. The bendable camera lets you change the field of view by altering the structure of the device itself. In order to get a wider shot, all you have to do is bend the camera outwards. Embedded in the front of the gadget are three cameras which work together to form a consolidated image. As a result, users can take a picture from varying perspectives simply by bending the camera.

FlexCam works by using customized software to blend the images together. The resulting picture is displayed on a Flexible Organic Light Emitting Diode which bends along with the rest of the camera to show an image in full vivid color.
