This App Aids the Reporting Of Lobster Catches In Maine

Data company Bluefin Data has launched an innovative new fishing app called VESL that is designed to make it easier than ever for lobster fishers located in the state of Maine to go about meeting both state and federal requirements when it comes to reporting their catch.

Developed as part of a contract issued by the Maine Department of Marine Resources, the app aims to help lobster fishers comply with new reporting requirements, set to be implemented in 2023, that are designed to provide government authorities as well as scientific authorities with greater detail about the locations and impacts of lobster fishing.

Available for download on Google Play, the app, which is called VESL, is a fine example of technology companies working with governments to use app interfaces for the sake of data reporting and environmental evidence collection.
