The Jaffa Cakes Wallpaper is Straight from Willy Wonka

The first ever lickable lift has been installed in a Central London office building today. The lift is made of edible wallpaper that tastes and smells of the legendary McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes.

The Jaffa Cakes Wallpaper is a new marketing move being trialled in the Capital. The brand is hoping the initiative will entice office workers to go out and by a box of Jaffa Cakes for their work mates.

The Willy Wonka-esque creation is made up of 1,325 lickable Jaffa Cakes and took food technicians four weeks to develop. The idea came from an original Heston Blumental creation and the artwork is inspired by Damien Hirst's spot paintings.

The edible elevator is being trialled at one of the largest private communications companies on Great Portland Street and will be removed on Friday 13th April.

The first ever lickable lift looks like the tastiest way to travel floor to floor. Who needs stairs?
