The Fire and Icing Cake is Inspired by the Painting Descent by Ray Caesar

The Fire and Icing cake looks too good to eat. The exquisite detailing must have amounted to much hard work, it could almost be considered sacrilegious to have it end up as mush in someone's belly. Alas, a cake is meant to be eaten.

Designed by Dante Nuno, the Fire and Icing Cake is inspired by the painting titled Descent by Ray Caesar. Created for the opening of Ray Caesar's largest solo retrospective exhibit, this cake easily could have stolen the show. The interpretation of the painting is stunning. From the tentacled legs to the woman's ballroom gown, the attention to detail is impressive, and even the addition of the clock design on the main part of the cake is a great touch.
