FIGS Ties Combines Luxe Materials and a One-for-One Model

While doing a little research for our 20 One-for-One Giving Tools top list, we came across other one-for-one companies that had not yet been featured on Trend Hunter or Social Business -- and FIGS Ties is one of them. For every one tie sold, one East African child is provided with a school uniform that they could not otherwise afford (and that isn't provided by the government) so that they can attend school. This is done through the FIGS Threads for Threads program. As can be seen through the marriage of high-end luxe neckwear and giving, Heather Hasson founded FIGS Ties as a method to blend her two great interests: fashion and global education.

FIGS Ties has bow ties, Italian silk woven ties, cashmere and other styles and materials available. The cashmere is sourced from the Himalayas and is apparently so fabulous that FIGS Ties themselves call it "ridiculous" on its website. Including cashmere, FIGS also makes its products using British woolens, linens, cottons and Italian silks in order to create a beautiful finished product that appears to have more than just a touch of class.

FIGS Ties is yet another example that shows how middle-class consumers are proven to pay a premium for products that they know are benefitting a cause that they believe in -- whether it be limiting environmental degradation or empowering the Majority World.
