Fashion Brand Hermès Embraces Lightheartedness in Milan

Fashion brand Hermès has made a name for itself because of its iconic and opulent designs—especially the ones that adorn the timeless and luxurious square scarfs. Now, the company's latest foray in installation design was on display at events space La Pelota during Milan Design Week.

Four sizable and colorful structures that elegantly emitted a dim light from within stood amid the darkness of the expansive industrial building, La Pelota. The structures were made out of ash wood and paper. Fashion brand Hermès drew inspiration from water towers and the theme of its 2022 homeware collection which embraces the concept of lightheartedness. While the water tower motif is surely present in the silhouette of each of the four structures, one may consider the lightness to be emulated through the use of lightweight materials—like paper.
