Volvo Announces the 'Family Bond by Volvo Cars' Leave Policy

Automobile manufacturer Volvo has announced the ‘Family Bond by Volvo Cars’ policy, allowing employees to enjoy 24 paid weeks of parental leave, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. This initiative covers all parents, including the biological parent, adopter child sponsor, and surrogate, allowing all parents of all genders and backgrounds to make their family a priority while working at Volvo.

Volvo also allows parents who apply for parental leave to return to their role and previous salary at the company once their rest period is complete. Employees can also transition into a new position that may be more flexible to suit their changing lives as parents.

"We realize that having a new family member brings rich happiness to everyone in the home, but it also comes with a great deal of pressure. So, we want to give our employees longer leave to make it easier for them in this transition period," said Mr. Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Car Group Sweden.
