Learn to Properly Pinch Pennies With an Extreme Couponing Class

With the recent popularity of the TLC show 'Extreme Couponing,' which documents women who dedicate large portions of their days to clipping coupons to save money, it doesn't come as a surprise that a extreme couponing class is now available. For those who are not familiar with the phenomenon, fear no more, there is a three-hour class for you!

The class took place in Boise, Idaho and was inspired by the TLC hit show that premiered in April. About 20 women attended, and that number will surely continue to grow. The extreme couponing class was taught by Monica Knight and and her business partner Cathy Yoder. Knight and Yoder are the founders of the couponing blog Fabulessly Frugal.

"I think the stores are a little freaked out because of the television show," says Knight. She warns her coupon-loving students to be polite to cashiers, not buy more than they need and never photocopy coupons. In other words, the message of the extreme couponing class is that couponing does not always have to be so "extreme."
