Extra Life Toronto Hosted an Event to Raise Funds for Sick Kids

Extra Life Toronto, an organization that aims to generate awareness and funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, recently hosted a 25-hour video game marathon within the city to raise funds for the Hospital for Sick Children.

Although the event would normally only go for 24 hours, the organization's second annual fundraiser fell on the end of daylight savings time, adding an extra hour. Over the course of the event, Extra Life Toronto managed to bring in $30,000 for Sick Kids.

Tara Oliphant of the Children's Miracle Network team explained the impact of the event, stating that "For these kids, they really are so disconnected from everyone. But when they’re gaming, they can go online and feel connected to a broader community."
