Prop-Happy Movie Posters

Emma Butler Creates an Excessive Alternative to Classic Film Promotions

Take a look at these fantastic new movie posters created by Canadian graphic designer Emma Butler. Butler’s overall aim of creating these excessive movie posters was to break away from the current theme of minimalist movie posters.

This four-part series integrates recognizable movie props, memorable parts and pieces that are systematically jam-packed into each poster. Some of the props included in Butler’s excessive posters are Forrest Gump’s ping-pong paddles, Doc’s futuristic time-travel automobile and Maverick’s F-14 Tomcat. These props make up the entirety of the posters and fit extremely well together. The movies featured in Butler’s excessive interpretation on movie posters are actually some of her all-time favorite movies: Back to the Future, Top Gun, Mighty Ducks and Forrest Gump. Emma Butler does a fantastic job of reducing movies down to their lowest common denominator -- their props!
