Called 'Afterparty', this furry looking pavilion was the winning entry of the 2009 MoMA/P.S.1 Young Architects Program competition.
Located in New York outside of the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Centre, Afterparty is covered in an Indonesian thatched palm-fibre.
Afterparty is slated to be used as an event venue this summer. It includes a bar area, seating and water.
It's always fun when cities put up these creative buildings. I wonder what the locals think?
Implications - In today's modern world, more and more consumers are living metropolitan lifestyles. Businesses that offer unusual products or experiences to be encountered by city-dwellers will appeal to a wide range of consumers. Consumers will likely invest in those products that offer them something that typically isn't associated with an urban or city setting.
