Ethiopian Spice Packaging

These Packages Use Vibrant Colors and Exotic Designs to Suggest Flavor

Beatrice Menis Design was put to the task of developing a packaging system concept for an Ethiopian spice company. The result is a vibrant color-coded system that succeeds in visually giving consumers a taste of the region.

The concept provides consumers with two ways of purchasing spices, including bags for frequent use, as well as smaller sized bottles for at-home chefs who do not require a stock of as much seasoning. These colorful packaging designs for the Berbere, Shiro and Mitmita spices adopt a warm color scheme to match the spices themselves and vibrant patterns to go with each exotic flavor.

On the necks of the small Ethiopian spice bottles, Beatrice Menis Design included hanging tags to provide consumers with a few tips and tricks on how to best use the spices in cooking.
