EM2N Architecture went with a distinct design for this railway station in Zurich, adding to the surrounding area through a billowing cemented look.
The covered station is extremely different than most stations one would find across the country, as usually these facades are put in place purely for functional reasons. However, EM2N Architecture went a step further and designed something for aesthetic purposes too.
According to DesignBoom, "the architects conceived a modular system of bulging panels which undulate three dimensionally." This occurs all the way down the outside of the building, which seems to stretch on forever. Angular windows were also placed along the side of the structure, ensuring that the inside isn't completely cut off from the outside world.
