The Ecological Living Module Was Showcased at UN Headquarters

Designed by the architectural firm Gray Organschi and Yale University's Center for Ecosystems in Architecture, the Ecological Living Module manages to operate independently of existing utilities and infrastructure. Having lived at the United Nation's New York City headquarters, this marvelous tiny home aims to showcase how a single dwelling could consume less of the world's resources and contribute much less greenhouse gas.

The Ecological Living Module is built to house four people and includes a sleeping loft, a small seating area, a kitchen and a bathroom with a composting unit and shower. All of the electricity available in the Ecological Living Module is generated by a combination of solar panels and something known as an "Integrated Concentrated Solar Facade System." Water is collected throughout the building, through rainwater collectors and dehumidifiers.
