Marks & Spencer to Sell Carbon Neutral Underwear

The green movement is moving slowly in the right direction. Marks & Spencer, the largest UK clothes producer, announced that it would be selling carbon neutral underwear.

The pieces are produced in a carbon neutral factory in Thulhiriya, Thailand. The factory has windows carefully designed to use as much light possible, they have evaporative cooling, turf roofs and they have renewable green energy. The plant uses 40% less energy than an usual one and the entire energy production is based on hydropower (90%) and from solar panels based on site (10%).

The costs are 25% higher than usual but the extra costs will be covered from the energy savings in the next 5 years.

I may say that now I am a Marks & Spencer fan!
