Tien-ho Hsu's Eco-Light is Made from Paper

Designer Tien-Ho Hsu has designed a light bulb made of paper and dubbed the Eco-Light. The Eco-Light is designed to be more eco-friendly than current light bulbs which may have a longer lifespan than they used to, but still end up in the trash when they go out. This creates a huge problem as landfills become clogged with old light bulbs that take up space and take many, many years to begin decomposing.

The Eco-Light's paper form allows it to be completely recycled after it stops working. This small shift in design could potentially remove millions of pounds of waste from landfills that would otherwise never have decomposed -- and that's a conservative estimate. The Eco-Light is a 2011 Lite-On Award winning design. You can see conceptual images of Hsu's award winning design here.
