ECLIPS Coat Retrieval System Ditches Tickets in Favor of E-Tags

The nightmarish process that is coat check could forever be changed for the better by the ECLIPS Coat Retrieval System. Design students Alyssa Davis and Alara Deirick, the former a coat room attendant, designed ECLIPS to cut coat retrieval times by as much as 75 percent. The system works using electronic tags and invisible number stamps.

With the ECLIPS Coat Retrieval System, those checking their coats are given a stamp instead of a ticket. The stamps correspond to an electronic tag which is placed on the coat. When it is time to grab your coat, all the attendant needs to do is check your number, type it into the system and your tag will light up. You can check out the video to see the ECLIPS Coat Retrieval System in action.
