Mona Chalabi's Earth Day Prints are Light-Hearted

Data journalist and illustrator Mona Chalabi has unveiled three Earth Day prints, in collaboration with online art gallery Absolute Art. The artist has utilized her talent to help people visualize COVID-19 data, but this is a slight departure from this. The new collection of illustrations is titled 'Stats to Help you Breathe' and is a whimsical adaptation of data.

The limited-edition artwork is colorful, embracing light and fluid lines. This stylistic choice is directly tied to Mona Chalabi's main intention which is to "give people pause for thought and take their minds off the coronavirus pandemic." The Earth Day prints share facts about the natural world in playful statements—each day, for example, about 140 lovebirds will learn how to fly.

The 'Stats to Help you Breathe' collection was launched as part of The World Around's takeover of Virtual Design Festival.
