85 Person Domino

Dutch Hold Record With 4 Million Tiles

As feverish fans of Domino Toppling, it was fitting that the Dutch held the attempt at breaking the world record this week in the Netherlands, with 85 people participating from 13 countries around the world. The video is pretty spectacular.

Although the fantastic spectacle only took two hours to topple, it was planned for a whole year, and took eight weeks and a few steady hands to set up the over four million little spotted bricks.

The first domino was toppled by former Miss Finland, Salima Peippo, a former acrobat who hung suspended from the ceiling to add to the dramatic event.

Domino Day 2008 set out to break ten world records made in previous years.
