Light-Up Drone Choreography

Intel's 'Drone 100' Project is a Marriage of Technology and Art

In a merger of science and art that could only be bested by the lovechild of Mary Curie and Pablo Picasso, Intel put on a dazzling drone light show while simultaneously setting the world record for "most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in flight at once." Featuring 100 flying drones, the event was appropriately dubbed 'Drone 100.'

Tech giant Intel had previously conducted a similar drone light show in Germany and in fact needed special approval from the FAA in order to carry out Drone 100 in Palm Springs, CA. Brian Krzanich, Intel's CEO, foresees drone light shows becoming common in the future, with 1,000 or more lighted UAVs flying over stadiums and large-population events across North America and the world.
