Drive-Thru pranks are usually done by the customers to the window-bound employees, not the other way around. However, the agency Tribal DDB came up with a hilarious way to surprise Austrian McDonald’s customers as they drove up to the drive-thru window.
The team replaced the staff with quirky characters like a wrestler, a spaceman and an opera singer. The wrestler would challenge his customers to an arm-wrestling match, the opera singer would belt out her customer’s orders and the spaceman was fully suited and situated in a "space-ship." Most customers found the stunts amusing while others were not so thrilled about what they encountered.
The unamused did have good reasoning for their moods: some characters weren’t so appealing as they completely ignored the customers to make out with each other or emulated the girl from ‘The Ring.’
