Cloud-Like Office Spaces

'Dream Garden' Combines Curling Shapes with Angled Rooms

Open concept designs are frequently used as a way to give companies control over their workspaces, but 'Dream Garden', a new office concept in Shangqui, China, takes an opposite tack in its layout. Rather than leaving space purely open, Dream Garden is filled with both closed-off rooms and interesting, partially enclosed spaces that leave room for creative interpretation of the workspace as a whole.

The key design trait in Dream Garden is the curling walls that are placed around the floor plan. These walled off spaces are considered public in the context of the building, but they simultaneously provide meeting spaces that are private enough for exchanging information between select individuals. This liminal design is compared to a dream, hence the space's name.
