The Oh Happy Day Blog Does You How to DIY Birthday Party Decorations

These DIY birthday party decorations are the ultimate solution to anyone who wants to create a memorable birthday event without breaking the bank. This giant number 4 has the appearance of a pinata but luckily can be made in a fraction of the time from a few basic arts and crafts supplies.

Blog creator, Jordana Ferney says the project took her just over and hour to create and as you can see the results are really worth it. To create the giant number (which can be adapted to suit any age), all you’ll need is some cardboard, crepe paper, butcher paper, scissors, glue and a ruler.

The basic idea is to draw out your backing number on card first, and then start making your lines of colored fringe from the crepe paper. Once you start layering the colored paper over and over, the decoration will take on an in-depth, pinata look. To finish add some string and hang the number in a strategic place in your home.
