1. Set them where you see them. If you’ve seen mice in your home, set traps in their common pathways. It may seem logical to set traps throughout the room, but doing so is ineffective because mice tend to stay close to their nests and return to known feeding areas.
2. More is more. According to experts, the most common trapping mistake is setting too few traps. Believe it or not, a half dozen mousetraps is not too many for a single room. You increase your chances of catching your pests if you set plenty of traps.

When using peanut butter, only add a pea-sized amount to the trap. Using more only increases the mouse’s ability to remove the bait without triggering the mousetrap.
6. Keep it clean. Wear disposable gloves when handling mousetraps and be sure to dispose of used traps in sealed plastic bags.
