Versace Expands Luxury Resort Brand

A few months ago Trend Hunter featured the Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast, Australia's most expensive hotel. Now Gianni Versace is building an opulent resort in India, and another in Dubai.

The Versace chain of luxury hotels hopes to complete their project in the Middle East by 2009. Rumor has it the hotel will have 214 suits, 190 condos and multiple pools.

Expansion plans don't stop there, however. Versace wants to increase their brand status in the world of luxury reports, all of which are to reflect the "Renaissance palaces in Europe and its classical architecture," the India Times said. "The Gold Cost resort houses a 750-kg chandelier owned by the legendary designer Gianni and its driveway has the second largest pebble mosaic design in the world made of rare Italian and Brazilian marble."
