These Designer Ashtrays by Fornasetti are Iconic

These designer ashtrays by the iconic Fornasetti store in Milan, Italy recreate the famous painter’s motifs of a woman’s face. The latest designer ashtrays by the company will be shown at an exhibition entitled ‘Sublime Tabacco’ which run from February 14th to March 30th. The inspiration for the show’s title came from a Lord Byron poem ‘The Island’.

The accessories are being shown exclusively from the archives of Fornasetti. The ‘Sublime Tabacco’ show will feature many smoking accessories from ashtrays to table lighters to match holders—the collection identifies with the European smoking culture from the 1950’s and 60’s. The Fornasetti store in Milan is run by the late painter’s son Barnaba Fornasetti. Although Fornasetti did not smoke himself, he saw smoking as a passion and was pictured with unlit cigarettes many times for advertisements.
