Retro Greaser Editorials

The Vogue Germany May 2014 Dark Bloom Photoshoot is Vintage-Themed

The Vogue Germany May 2014 Dark Bloom editorial re-introduces classic greaser looks via the outfits of stylist Nicola Knels. In each shot, Knels worked with models Devon Windsor and Zlata Mangafic who sported varying takes on all-black apparel and accessories.

Teaming up with Knels was photographer Greg Kadel who captured Windsor and Mangafic in varying positions. Always upright, the women wore leather pants, oversize belts, leather coats and leopard embellishments. Together the item pairings re-introduce western styles and greaser motifs, the bulk of which are more often than not associated with men as opposed to the dainty likes of Windsor and Mangafic.

Given the harsh, masculine themes present in Dark Bloom, black and white shots were selected by Kadel.
