The Danjiang Bridge is a brand new bridge, set to be located at the mouth of the Tamsui River in Taipei, Taiwan, that will be the world's longest asymmetric, single-tower cable-stayed bridge once it is completed.
Conceived by Zaha Hadid Architects, who won an international competition to get the opportunity to create the bridge, the 920-meter-long Danjiang Bridge will improve connectivity for the local population and help alleviate traffic on the region's congested roads.
The bridge is designed in such a way that it doesn't disrupt waterway traffic. Moreover, it also allows locals an unobstructed view of the sunset, a point that takes on great importance when you consider that the area is popular with sunset-gazing tourists.
