Caged Cultural Centers

The Daegu Library is an Encased Sanctuary for Community and Learning

In spite of the caged aesthetic of the Daegu Library, at least when it comes to its exterior design, it is very spacious and airy. The long bars that rise higher than the building are thin and widely spaced to allow as much natural light to seep through as possible. A place for quiet reflection, learning and community, the Daegu Library's encasement promotes sanctuary without compromising its place in the outside world.

Designed by Holm Architecture Office, the Daegu Library is to be built in South Korea. An inviting cultural center for locals and visitors alike, the ground floor will be open-concept and versatile in order to hold various functions and events while the top floor will have reading rooms.
