Felon Finding Apps

The Criminal Tracker Seeks Out Unsavory Individuals in the Neighborhood

After a long night of watching Criminal Minds or CSI, the Criminal Tracker app will put paranoid minds at ease by determining whether a scary menace to society is lurking outside in the bushes.

U.S. Publications Inc. used information from a study by the U.S. Department of Justice to compile a National Criminal Index application for iPhones, iPads and iPods. It determines whether a registered offender is residing within a 40-mile radius of the user's location. After entering their zip code into the app, the user can then see a list of convicted criminals that live in their area, complete with names and addresses.

Whether or not this will ease tensions about how safe ones neighborhood is, it will definitely help in picking which neighbor to ask for a cup of sugar.
