Choux à la Crème is the Newest Bite in Pastry Land

On the streets of Paris the macaron was invented and became a worldwide hype, now the Choux à la Crème or Cream Puffs is Paris' newest pastry trend. Pastry is maybe even to much to call this little bite of crunchy dough, whipped cream and a flavoured topping but delicious and trendy it definitely is.

Although the cream puffs are booming right now it was invented already in 1540 by Popelini, an Italian chef who came up with the recipe. Since then the recipe evolved and now is filled with whipped cream, pastry cream or custard and topped with a shiny drip of frosting in all the flavours you could imagine, from rose & raspberry and Pistachio with Morello cherry to salted caramel or a classic dark chocolate.
