Gurea Arquitectura Cooperativa Designs the Cork and Wood House

Architecture studio Gurea Arquitectura Cooperativa completes the Cork and Wood House located in Spain. It is defined by its construction process using a raw range of materials. The concept behind the home is to have a minimal impact on the natural surroundings in a visual manner and throughout the construction methods. It kicks off with a prefabricated frame using limited wood with notable cork panels to bring forth the texture of the traditional stone buildings of the area.

Darío Cobo Calvo speaks to Dezeen about the design, stating "It is a small village with a strong rural character, with small houses made of stone, and at the same time with a close relationship with the natural landscape. With the same contemporary attitude, we wanted to be careful in the way housing was inserted in the village, concerning the proportions, the position of the buildings, the size, the materials or leaving the terrain unaltered, as if the house was carefully perched on the site.
