Ivy Hu Uses Meat as a Medium for a Cool Print Ad

Designer Ivy Hu has created an unconventional, cool print ad to promote ‘Digital Chops,’ a series of WebDev101 Sessions from the IDEO consultancy firm. Hu’s design uses a laser-cutter to print the words ‘Design Chops’ onto a hunk of meat. Hu’s work is the most innovative use of meat since Lady GaGa’s infamous red carpet meat dress.

Of course, the discovery that meat is a printable surface could provide another avenue for advertisers to reach their customers.  Does this mean our pork chop dinners will be commercialized from now on? We can’t be sure just yet, but for those who are interested in the meat-printing process, Hu provides a video of herself laser-cutting the phrase onto a slab of meat.
