Cheese Puff-Coated Cookies

Cookie Good's Cheetos Cookies are a Sweet and Salty Hybrid Snack

While both cookies and cheese puffs are popular snack options, now the two can be enjoyed as one sweet and salty treat thanks to Cookie Good in Santa Monica, California. While the idea of Cheetos Cookies may seem unusual, the hybrid dish has proven extremely popular among customers.

Cheetos Cookies are the brainchild of Cookie Good co-owner Ross Canter. Canter came up with the idea one night while dreaming up unusual flavor combinations. In order to achieve the perfect balance of texture and flavors, Canter explains that the cookie "had to be thick and chewy, salty and cheesy, have the soft crunch and slight corny flavor of Cheetos and, if possible, it'd be great if the cookie could turn fingertips orange." He then grabbed a bag of party-size Cheetos and got to work.

The result of Canter's efforts is a sugar cookie base mixed with cheddar powder and crushed Cheetos Puffs, and coated in a final layer of Cheetos dust. In total, there is about three cheese puffs in every cookie.
