Controversial Energy Powder

"I Love Blow"

An energy powder that is designed and marketed to look like cocaine is set to stir up a hornet's nest of controversy when it goes on sale in Britain.

Called “I Love Blow”, the white substance contains caffeine and other stimulants, and comes packaged with a mirror and a fake credit card. It's been available for months in stores in the US (despite protests from very angry parents) and online. Now many fear that teens will buy the stuff if manufacturers find an outlet in Britain. The company is currently working on approval in the Netherlands, which will open up retail opportunities in the rest of the European Union.

The substance is meant to be dissolved in water, but advertising clearly alludes to edgier cultural references.
