Stephen Andersen's Consequence Lamp Illustrates Wasted Energy

I really appreciate how some designers are taking a stand against wasted energy; take the Consequence Lamp as an example. Although it doesn't necessarily save energy in a traditional or even technological way, it brings awareness to the unnecessary use of power by making a mess when it hasn't been attended to for a long while.

Conceived by industrial designer Stephen Andersen, the Consequence Lamp basically makes a waxy mess when it has been ignored for about an hour. This dripping aspect forces a more intimate interaction between the light and the user. The Consequence Lamp really shows the user how much light he uses and how he can reduce that use for himself and his environment.
