Fortress-Like Concrete Towers

Steven Holl Produced an Award-Winning Design for a Museum

New York-based architectural firm Steven Holl visualized a set of all-white concrete towers for Le Musée des Collectionneurs in Angers, France. The studio will be tasked to create contemporary architectural dwellings for a museum and a hotel. Steven Holl drew inspiration for the sizeable and modern concrete towers from the structure of a historic fortress—Chateau d’Angers, "which lies just across the Maine river from the site."

The new design for the Le Musée des Collectionneurs is intended to serve as a connection between notable sites within the Western France town. Steven Holl's majestic concrete towers are designed to create a "cultural triangle" between the fortress and the city's theater.

Minimalism is the key design feature inside the building. With and all-white interior, the artifacts and art pieces truly stand out and captivate the audience.
