In These Conceptual Photos Mohammadi Captures Dangerous Devices

Within these conceptual photos in ‘Repulsion,’ photographer Ata Mohammadi creates interesting weapons out of everyday sights and items. The photos in sepia are disturbingly creepy.

Some of the weapons include guitar strings made of barbed wire, an umbrella with a knife as a handle and a tea bag of pills. Other than these homemade conceptual weapons, there are also images that are equally as disturbing. One of these particular images is woman with her ħijāb locked shut. Being from Iran, the photographer shows a few images that question certain cultural practices.

Overall the photos are disturbing and turn everyday sights into horrific ones. Although they are conceptual photos, the photographer wants us to think about certain cultures and ways of life in a different way. By using photography and digital photography, the photos become eerily realistic.
