British Land Designed Loafely Towers as a Company April Fool's Joke

April Fools' Day is no longer just full of petty pranks as company April Fool's jokes have taken the Internet by storm. Large corporations have created some serious hype for themselves by announcing outlandish ventures or products days before or during the trick-filled date.

To participate in the day, two British firms (Property developer British Land and bread company Warburtons) proposed that two new bread-shaped skyscrapers be added to London's downtown-core.

One of the towers, ‘The Slice of Bread,’ would feature a photovoltaic crust and its twin, 'The Loaf,' would create the illusion of a sandwich forming around the Gherkin building. Architectural consultants from British Land described them as "just what London has been kneading." Too bad it was all a hoax; it would have really gotten a rise out of the British.
