Pantone-Paired Smoothies

These Images Show a Paint Swatch Next to a Identically Colorful Smoothie

Art director Hedvig A Kushner collaborated with photographer Michael Kushner to create this playful color experiment, which pairs pantone swatches with colorful smoothies. These bright and vibrant images display the use of hues and allows designers to get an intensified visual description of artistic tints and shades.

The project is titled Pantone Smoothies and it features many colors including red, pink, blue and green. The smoothies are wonderful sources of inspiration when it comes to color because they combine various colorful ingredients to make one beautiful shade – just like paint.

Each image shows the top of a glass that is filled with a colorful smoothie, which is sitting next to an identical-colored pantone swatch. In addition to these images, there are also pictures that display the ingredients that were used to make the smoothie. This allows the viewer to gain a visual observation of how to achieve each color -- or how to recreate the smoothie.
