These Colorful Apartments Provide Shelter for the Homeless

Architect Richard Rogers recently designed a series of colorful apartments that provide shelter for homeless individuals. Early this summer, the city of London carried out a study involving 2,300 homeless families. The study found that shelter is necessary for these individuals to carry out important tasks such as gaining steady employment.

In response to the study, Rogers designed a stackable apartment building that can accommodate homeless individuals. The affordable homes are prefabricated which makes them inexpensive to build and assemble. The units feature a unique design that allows them to be stacked in a variety of different combinations. The colorful apartments provide an affordable housing option for city residents with a limited income.

While the factory-built units do not solve all of the issues associated with homelessness, they they do provide an immediate and affordable housing solution.
