Simulated Cliff Housing

Space-Saving ‘Mountain Dwellings' Apartments

Cliff housing, a once-prominent form of shelter, may be long gone, but its architectural legacy has been brought back to life with ‘Mountain Dwellings,’ an apartment project by the BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group from Copenhagen, Denmark.

It should be of no surprise that BIG won this year’s World Architecture Festival in the area of housing.  Their collective architectural genius created ‘Mountain Dwellings’ apartments to save space, offer picturesque views of above and below and come complete with areas for roof gardening.
