11 Questions With Chris "Drama" Pfaff

1. How do you keep your work on the cutting edge?

Really, my life is driven by progression. If I don’t feel like I’m moving forward then I get really bummed out. So I feel like my work just goes hand in hand with that. If my music or my clothing or anything isn’t moving forward then that means I’m not.

2. How do you reset yourself to become creative? Do you have any rituals?

I don’t really have any strange rituals. I am really OCD and a perfectionist as well, but as far as rituals, I can’t say I really have any of those. I’m just constantly trying to stay in tune with what’s hot and keep trying to be a step ahead.

3. What is an example of a time where you have thrown away an existing idea to force yourself to find something new?

I do that almost daily on the music side of things. It’s a very regular thing to have almost an entire track done and just delete and restart. If it’s not adding up at the end, a lot of times it’s not worth trying to fix. That goes back to being a perfectionist about everything.

4. How did you get involved in television and what motivates you to continue?

As far as the reality TV stuff goes, I got involved because Rob started working on the pilot for ‘Rob & Big’ about two weeks after I moved to California and I just kind of found a spot in the cast dynamic and it worked out. As far as what motivates me to keep going… it’s just a lot of fun and great exposure for the other things I’m doing.

5. How significant are the topics of cool hunting and trend spotting in the world of entertainment?

I think they just go hand in hand. That’s part of what entertainment is - what all the new styles and trends are. Without that it’d be boring.

6. How do you define cool?

Not taking yourself too serious and being able to keep pushing limits and boundaries.

7. How do you define a trend?

To me a trend is anything that’s new and hot that people never thought of or putting a cool spin on something old. Sometimes they last for years. Sometimes months.

8. Professionally, what do you want to be doing in 10 years?

Taking everything I’m doing now to a major major level and have a bunch of new things going. Hopefully just calling the shots from a mansion somewhere.

9. If you weren’t in entertainment, what would your dream profession be?

This is it. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

10. What are your favorite hobbies?

Skateboarding, anything music.

11. If you could work with anyone in the world, who would it be and what would you do?

Michael Jackson. R.I.P.. I’d love to have been able to see that guy’s creative process.
