Zodiacs To Predict Prosperity

Chinese Zodiac Says Year of Ox Is Good For Obama and Economy

Chinese New Year began this weekend, and based on the Chinese Zodiac, it’s the year of the Ox, which suggests it will be a year of prosperity.

The Chinese Zodiac believes the Ox represents "calm, hard work, resolve and tenacity," according to the BBC. For this reason, some Chinese futurists say its a good year for Obama to step in as a new president.

"Obama was born in 1961, a Year of the Ox," the Observer writes. "Four 12-year cycles later, 2009 is also a Year of the Ox, which means this could be Obama’s year—and, in turn, all of ours as well."

The images above show how China has begun celebrating the transition in the Chinese Zodiac, a week-long string of festivities that involve praying, parties, good luck symbols and lots of fireworks.
