Curation-Promoting Installations

Cheungvogl Architects Has Designed a Piece for the M+ Museum

Cheungvogl Architects have put together an installation in Hong Kong that encourages visitors to step into the shoes of a curator for a day, as they are allowed to manoeuvre certain pieces however they would like.

The installation features magnetic artwork to allow for these adjustments, so that guests can experiment with different positions to see what works and what does not. According to DesignBoom, "the lightweight structure is comprised of 21 modular concrete blocks, connected with 500 reinforced steel bars and 138 planks of plywood, resulting in a veil of translucent screens that dissolve boundaries between internal and external space." This way visitors are able to move around the area with ease, playing with the different ways to curate pieces of art. Photo Credits: designboom, cheungvogl
