Cherry Blossom-Inspired Beverages

McDonald’s Sakuranbo Frappe & Mocha Celebrate Sakura Season

Sakura season is just getting started in Japan and this means that there are a slew of cherry blossom-inspired products popping up everywhere. To celebrate the arrival of spring, two new offerings from McDonald’s Japan include a cherry frappe and mocha.

The espresso in the McDonald’s Sakuranbo Mocha is infused with chocolate and cherry syrup, made from Japanese-grown cherries. To top it off, the mocha is decorated with a tart raspberry sauce. The Sakuranbo Frappe also uses the Japanese-made cherry syrup and because of its very pink coloring and the crushed strawberry candies sprinkled on top, it looks much more like a sakura-inspired drink.

In addition to the new sakura-inspired frappe and mocha, McDonald’s also introduced cherry sodas, floats and a pink Sakura Teritama burger this year as well.
